The Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair 01 – 04 | 12 | 2016 is making a dynamic entrance in Thessaloniki at the Exhibition and Congress Centre of TIF HELEXPO, aiming at becoming one of the most important artistic events in Greece and the broader region of Southeast Europe.
The Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair, which is being co-organised by ‘TIF HELEXPO SA’, the National Agency for the Organisation of Exhibitions, Congresses and Cultural Events, and by the TSATSIS PROJECTS / ARTFORUM gallery, aspires to establish itself as an annual institution and will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
This is an art fair that invests in the strategically important geographic location of Thessaloniki, its multicultural identity, its rich and long history. Its goal is to highlight the present potential of Thessaloniki and to establish the city as an important centre for the Arts in the Balkans and the broader Mediterranean basin at both the level of artistic expression and the level of commercial, cultural and economic growth.
The identity of Art – Thessaloniki will be defined by Art Galleries from Greece and abroad, as well as a rich programme of parallel events that will embrace the entire city, with the participation of young artists, cultural agencies, museums, foundations and artistic publications.
The programme of parallel events will include, among other events:
- Exhibition of young Greek artists under the supervision of Art Historians Haris Savvopoulos, Manos Stefanidis and Sania Papa.
- Modern and Byzantine Hagiography Project
- Art workshops for children and adults
- Lectures by Art Historians
- Artistic happenings
